Colorado Culture

I have done a fair bit of traveling in my day, and always come home to Colorado. I love my state and will always say I am from Colorado, even if residency there was 4 states and moves ago. There are some unique CO quirks and ways of life, and I love getting this email forward that details them. I picked a few of my favorites to share here, since I have really been missing CO.

• You call it “ELitches” and not “Six Flags”

• When people out east say they have mountains, you laugh

• You go anywhere else on the planet and you notice that the air feels sticky and the sky is not longer blue.

• You think it is normal to have a snow storm in the month of May

• Your sense of direction is “towards the mountains” and “away from the mountains”

• You have no accent at all, but can hear other people’s.

• Humidity is anything over 25%

• You grew up planning your Halloween costumes around your coat

• You went to Casa Bonita as a kid, and as an adult

• You don’t care if some company renamed it, it is still “Mile High” stadium

• You have gone off roading in a vehicle that was never intended to go off roading
