He came, he crawled, he ate.

Cameron is an antsy boy these days. He hates to be confined, so the other day after he had begrudgingly resigned himself to the jogging stroller during one of our epic beach walks, I let him out of the stroller and set him on the beach.

He perched himself on the sand, then got up the courage to tap, then pat, then grasp, and then dig his fingers in the grainy stuff. He dug around for a bit, then began to squirm, then began to crawl, and then began to speed crawl. He LOVED the huge canvas of crawl space that the beach offers. There were so many things to see (and of course, eat) that he was quite disgruntled when it was time to go. It was quite daunting to try and wrestle his wet and sandy outfit off, and once it was off I had to fight the temptation to take more photos (for the health of our camera I refrained). A baby in the buff on the beach is indecently adorable.

Oh, lest anyone be concerned at the generous sprinkling of sand on his face and around his mouth, don't be! I have done extensive research on the consequences of babies eating sand, and the consensus is promising. Babies seem to like the feel of sand on their gums (especially when teething), and the salt taste also seems to be a bonus. A few sandy diapers--and the discomfort of the parents-- are the only drawbacks.

It's full of minerals, right? Clark has to settle for the dry desert variety of sand. We need to come so he can partake of the goodness at the beaches!

I had a dream last night that I gave birth to twins that looked very much like Cameron. And they came out of the womb chattering away in Italian. Twin A even sang the complete lyrics to an Italian song I know. I was tickled because I was the only one who could understand them :)
