The great napping dilemma

I should probably rename my blog to something of the effect of "life and times of Cameron," since 88% of my posts are about him. But then again, 88% of MY life is about him, so I guess things even out.

Anyway, every day I take a gamble about naptimes for Cameron. He usually takes one short nap (20 minutes) and then a long nap (1.5 hours). On days when I am feeling nap-ish, I have to gamble...is it going to be a short nap or a long nap? Inevitably, if I decide to lay down at the same time, just as I am getting into some wonderfully relaxing dreams, Cam is up and ready to go. Sad. Today I am exhausted (thanks, cold medicine) but didn't try and relax because I knew Cam would be up in 20 minutes. He has been sleeping for an hour. Who needs Vegas, when you can take a gamble here?

That is so frustrating...especially at his age where he is not quite down to one LONG nap and still needs a small nap as well as an additional semi long nap. It gets better, but they can hold on to that second nap for a long time. So sorry!

See, the problem is, you aren't sharing your cold medicine! If you did share, you would BOTH get at least one long nap, maybe even two...

Wait until he stops napping altogether (hi Anderson)... except maybe 1/week. But no saying when that 1 nap is coming. It's a total gamble.. will he, won't he... do I dare start this project... do we dare stay out all day... do we rush home for nothing.. is he asleep up there or will he catch me w/ my secret stash of Hot Tamales if I sneak them out now... if he does fall asleep will he be up 'til midnight... if he doesn't will he crash on the couch at 5:30... either way we've got a grumpy kid coming our way...

What a rush. :)
